World Of Warcraft, Digital Crack, Life Lost

Let me start with this. I've never been into PC games. Not

. I've always been a console gamer, wholly

), but about 2 months ago friends at work got me a copy of

Word of Warcraft

.

How it all began...

It all began real harmlessly. I began work here at my company and would often hear some of my co-workers talk about a game where they ran instances, traded and sold items for gold. I heard talk about "The

Horde

" and "The

Alliance

" and I would think to myself, "What kind of game is this? I can't believe that a game would be some good that they would talk about it everyday here at work?" Time went by and I'd hear some comments here and there about the World of Warcarf but nothing serious. Time past and some of my friends from work started talking to me about

World of Warcraft

(WoW). They knew I was a gamer and at the time was playing Madden, Midnight Club Racing 3 and was a part of my friend's racing crew Alien Racing Club.

First they got the president of our race crew playing WoW and he would talk to me about how much fun it was and that it was cool because all of our friends where online and that we all belonged to the same guild and can help eachother out. Also that it was like extended socializing with co-workers. Yada, yada, yada. I resisted, because I couldn't see paying $15 USD a month for a game. I didn’t have the time, I have a fiance, a daughter, a career and my own web design & development company. Finally one Friday, I was pleasantly surprised with a copy of WoW and that's where it began.

I am now a little over 2 months into playing WoW and love the game. I can see why there are so many people that pay to play this MMORPG. It's highly addictive. Like Blizzard says "Easy to learn, hard to master". Which is why so many people spend countless hours playing WoW, reading about WoW, plotting what they are going to do when they get on WoW. Anyone who hasn't played it yet, don’t. Unless you have lots of spare time, because it does take time. It's great fun and you can make some good friends.

My WoW experience started with a Tauren Warrior. I figured that I'd pick the simplest character with no magical abilities to learn what game play was like. I picked it up slowly, friends from work pitched into my learning the game. It was great. Needless to say my main is now a level 47 Tank and I have 3 other toons (Troll Priest lvl 22, Orc Hunter lvl 19, Undead Rogue lvl 9) and love it and I am looking forward to the Burning Crusade coming out November 28, 2006.
